the letters

this is an exclusive first look at my ep, the letters. here, you will find album art mockups, some of the poems that shaped the songs, and access to a demo of the final track, n.

vers_1

in a moment of passion, i was deeply inspired to create a mockup for this ep. i wanted to evoke the feeling of distance, as the few songs that are on this ep are centered around the idea of being far from something: the truth, a relationship, or someone special. this time, i incorporated my signature almost immediately, and i played with text placements that felt abstract.

vers_2

a slight variation from vers_1, vers_2 uses the same image as its predecessor and instead utilizes a different typeface. it felt like emptiness, which is another major inspiration behind the three tracks.

vers_3 - FINAL

moving in a slightly different direction, i opted to include a photo of my face layered over the glitched cityscape. i wanted to branch out; something about including my face in ep art felt special. i haven't included my face in any of my art since i was in high school, and the way in which i executed vers_3 calls back to some of those stylistic choices.

vers_4

utilizing the previously-mentioned emptied-out typeface, my face (mirrored), the glitched cityscape, and my signature, i strung together elements which i had already been using in a manner that felt entirely new. i'm not sure if i like it just yet, but there's something so complicated about looking at it that speaks to the complicated history of these tracks.

track three - n (demo)

n is about a young man named henry, who came all the way from portland to spend a weekend with me in the bay.
